Mitt Romney won by 25 points yesterday in the Nevada Republican caucus, coincidentally, that’s the same percentage of Republicans voters in Nevada who are Mormon. It can be argued that without the Mormon vote, Newt Gingrich would have come out slightly  ahead.

It’s becoming clear that Mitt Romney has the full-throated endorsement, not just of the Mormon hierarchy, but of the average Mormon voter. Polls show that Mormons vote as a block, close to 95% support the Mormon candidate. That seals Utah for Romney, a state where Mormons hold just about every high government office, but it also means that Gingrich will have trouble in states like Arizona, California and Utah where Mormons have made significant inroads.
